Impeccable Customer Service
Last year we conducted a survey of our customers and asked them to provide us with a Net Promoter Score (NPS). Although we believe in the impeccable service we provide, even we were a little taken aback at how highly our customers rated us. Since then we consistently ask for feedback from our travellers to make sure we remain at the top of our game. This has given us essential insight into what really sets us apart from our competition. The answer is simple - our drivers.
What Sets Us Apart
Of course our drivers are provided full training when they join us, we only work with drivers who have executive cars, Mercedes E Class for example. They are security checked, fully licensed, everything you would expect from a reputable chauffeur company. There is something else they have, that no training can give and that is huge personalities. Time and again we read feedback from travellers telling us how interesting our drivers are, how they made the journey so much more enjoyable through engaging conversation. They aren’t just polite and empathetic, they are interested.
Recognising Our Drivers
In this blog, the first of two, we want to give our amazing drivers the recognition they deserve and give our travellers a little insight into who they are and why they do what they do:
Ron:
Ron has been a driver for us for over 10 years and prior to this had a rather varied career. He has always had a love of driving and even today still holds his HGV licence. Ron gained essential customer service and sales skills while being employed by a major pharmaceutical company as a Regional Manager. He later became the General Manager for a Transport Business before turning his hand to helping out the London Welsh Rugby Club to such a degree, they also made him their General Manager for 10 years!
Ron’s local knowledge and love of cars and transportation eventually led him to us. He immediately felt a synergy with The Chauffeur Group with the same ethos of looking after people. He feels that the high standards of customer service that we expect matches his natural temperament. Ron is most definitely a people person and always finds lots of subjects to talk about with his travellers. Although, he always remains respectful of those who are tired and just want some time to relax during their journey.

Jim:
Jim is our newbie! He joined us just a few weeks ago and this is his first experience as a chauffeur for 20 years when he worked with a company called Grassbys who we subsequently merged with. Over the last 20 years Jim has gained a huge amount of experience in production and customer quality assurance, having worked with Mars and then UK Water which is now part of PHS.
Due to changes made around the business, Jim decided it was time to move on and wanted to use his love of driving and honed customer service skills and turn his hand at being an executive driver. Jim was introduced to us by a mutual contact and we knew instinctively that he was the right character to work with us.
Jim agreed and made the decision to gain his license. Following 8 weeks of medicals, training and document filling, he finally received his approval and could put all he had learnt into practice.
He is already making an excellent impression with our travellers and is receiving very positive feedback indeed. Jim has found that his sales experience has really helped him when talking to his passengers and enjoys this interaction immensely. He loves meeting new people and talking about all sorts so the next time you are being driven by Jim, he will happily discuss any topic of conversation with you!
